[Revived] Modern History Lesson Rant

Posted by Atilla89 on September 10, 2007

I have decided to post this again simply because it is such an awesome post and totally destroys any argument about Hezbollah or Hamas being ‘resistance’ organisations. It was originally posted on my old Windows Live Space blog but I closed that one down when I started doing this one full time. So enjoy!

Interesting modern history lesson I had today. We have been talking about South Africa and whether Mandela was a terrorist or a freedom fighter. So the teacher decided to give out sheets showing examples of terrorism throughout the 20th century. The two examples listed were the IRA in Northern Ireland and the various Arab TERRORIST groups that are involved in the Arab-Israeli conflict. For the first example it was obvious that the IRA were terrorists, indiscriminate bombings, kidnappings, murder and the like and the terrorist label also applied to the Ulsters or Royalists (I think that’s what they were called) who were fighting on the side of Northern Ireland (it’s more complicated but that is not the issue that I want to talk about).

Anyway the issue at hand was whether the class thought that these Palestinian groups such as the PELP, DELP and the PLO were freedom fighters or terrorist. I immediately said that they were terrorists and was asked why. I said one of the main difference between these groups and the IDF was that when these groups fire rockets or launch suicide bombers they kill indiscriminately and when the IDF accidently kills a Palestinian civilian they apologise, there is no cheering in the streets or parades of people waving the Israeli flag about (unlike in Gaza). I was immediatly told that I was generalising and after that I didn’t get a chance to speak and was told that we [in reference to the IDF] kills hundreds of them. Now begins my rant.

First the above point stands and I am not generalising. Next point is do freedom fighters normally want to commit genocide and not just genocide, I am talking about the extermination of the entire Jewish people?

Now you must remember that this is not some marginalised movement who have a small amount of numbers this is a terrorist group who are the GOVERNMENT! This is legal, wanting to kill all the adherants of a religion. Even if I wasn’t Jewish I would still look upon these people with disgust, regardless of the situation their in. Also let me remind you that even if these people had a legitament case (of Israel stealing their land), it must be remembered that they bypassed negotiations and diplomacy and went straight to war!

Next point is the PLO which were mentioned.

I suggest you watch this:

These terrorists already want to use their children as soldiers, trained and educated from birth to hate and want to kill and destroy. Their leader (thank God he is dead) lies blatantly to the media while he teaches the Palestinian children to kill themselves and take as many Israelis with him. This is also similar to the education of the Palestinian children at the moment where a Micky Mouse type character teaches them to hate.

I want to let you all know that this program still hasn’t been removed that the TV station refuses to listen to Hamas.

Next we come on to the P.E.L.P. They are already considered a terrorist organisation by Europe, Canada, Israel and America but besides that I will give you a list of their latest targets

  • A suicide bombing in a pizzeria in Karnie Shomron, on the West Bank on February 16, 2002, killing three Israeli settlers.
  • A suicide bombing in Ariel on March 7, 2002, which left wounded but no fatalities.
    • A suicide bombing in a Netanya market in Israel, on May 19, 2002, killing three Israelis. This attack was also claimed by Hamas, but the
    • Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades have identified the perpetrator on their website as one of their members
    • A suicide bombing in the bus station at Geha Junction in Petah Tikva on 25 December, 2003 which killed 4 Israelis.
    • A suicide bombing in Bikat Hayerden on May 22, 2004 , which left no fatalities.
    • A suicide bombing in the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv on November 1, 2004 , which killed 3 Israeli civilians.

At least Mandela’s group tried to not kill civilians (the younger people of this group were much less indiscriminate). Just what military value do markets, pizzerias and bus stations have to do with the army? Please tell me, I have been waiting to here how they are connected since I have heard of these bombings.

Now the D.F.L.P. these guys were once part of the PELP but broke away. The only good thing I can say about these guys were that they condemned attacks outside Israel other then that, they were a terrorist group. The DFLP simultaneously conducted numerous small bombings and minor assaults against Israeli targets, refusing to give up the armed struggle. It also performed some more major civilian attacks, of which most well known, are the Ma’alot massacre of 1974 and the Avivim school bus massacre. Although they are not labelled as a terrorist organisation by America or the UN, I believe they should be because they have targeted and killed civilians (research the Ma’alot massacre of 1974 and the Avivim school bus massacre).

Although the P.S.F have a very limited say in Palestinian politics I also regard this organisation as terrorist. They were formed in 1967 and eventually in In 1974 it took a further step, leaving the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) to become a founding member of the Rejectionist Front, in protest of the increasingly moderate politics of Arafat. Imagine that, Arafat was to moderate for them! That should give you the first clue of why I view them as terrorist but as well as this, during the 1970s the PSF hijacked airplanes, and also attacked civilian Israeli passengers in Athens Airport in 1969.

The last group that I will talk about is Fatah. Before I start though their leader Abbas wrote his thesis on Holocaust denial, I say no more. Here is a bit of background on Fatah. n the 1960s and the 1970s, Fatah provided training to a wide range of European, Middle Eastern, Asian, and African militant and insurgent groups, and carried out numerous attacks against Israeli targets in Western Europe and the Middle East during the 1970s. Some militant groups that affiliated themselves to Fatah, and some of the fedayeen within Fatah itself, carried out civilian plane hijackings and terrorist attacks, attributing them to  Black September, Abu Nidal’s Fatah-Revolutionary Council, Abu Musa’s group, the PFLP, and the PFLP-GC . Since 2000, the group is a member of the Palestinian National and Islamic Forces, which includes both PLO and non-PLO factions, including Hamas and  Palestinian Islamic Jihad, listed as terrorist organisations in the West.

The Fatah Constitution explicitly calls for the destruction of Israel through violent means. It has not been amended, and can be read in English on Fatah’s official website. It states as the organization’s primary goal:

    • “Article (12) Complete liberation of Palestine, and eradication of Zionist economic, political, military and cultural existence.”

The constitution also states methods which include:

    • “Article (17) Armed public revolution is the inevitable method to liberating Palestine.”
    • “Article (19) Armed struggle is a strategy and not a tactic, and the Palestinian Arab People’s armed revolution is a decisive factor in the liberation fight and in uprooting the Zionist existence, and this struggle will not cease unless the Zionist state is demolished and Palestine is completely liberated.”
    • “Article (22) Opposing any political solution offered as an alternative to demolishing the Zionist occupation in Palestine, as well as any project intended to liquidate the Palestinian case or impose any international mandate on its people. “

The organization has been accused of continuing attacks against Israeli civilians, and of supporting guerrilla warfare against Israeli soldiers and civilians in the West Bank and the Israeli interior. Groups closely affiliated with Fatah routinely claim responsibility for rocket strikes, sniper shootings, suicide bombings and other deadly attacks on Israeli civilians and military personnel within Israeli territory.

You will probably have noticed that I have not bothered with such organisations as Hamas or Hezbollah – needless to say it should be obvious to any person that these are terrorist organisations. Both use civilians as human shields, both fire rockets indsicriminately and cheer at what ever they hit regardless of military of civilian structure (these rockets are unguided), Hezbollah have no cause to fight – last time I checked Israel withdrew from Lebanon in 2000 and the Sheba Farms are part of the Golan Heights. Both these organisations wish to kill Jews, so in my view they are terrorist organisations.

However if you doubt me on Hamas or Hezballah watch this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxErvEzfoO0&mode=related&search= (for Hamas)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6GL0xX0Qes&mode=related&search= (for Hezbolah

Basically what I am trying to say is this, I will consider any freedom fighter or organisation that was formed for similar reasons as a terrorist group if they target and kill civilians when there are military structures that can be attacked instead. Only a coward plants a bomb or attacks an unarmed civilian if there are legitament military targets available. In the case of the Palestinians, if they attacked only military structures of soldiers I would consider or possible call them freedom fighters even if I deplore their reasons.

By the way, let me know if any of the links are out of date or do not work, thanks.
